Castleland Recast challenge

This is for Castleland challenge 09.  A recasting of 5 regular or recurring characters, and a picspam for each actor.  I tried, but I just couldn't recast Castle or Beckett (because nobody has hair as awesome as Stana Katic).  So I've recast Martha Rodgers, Jim Beckett, Captain Montgomery, Kevin Ryan and Javier Esposito.  I wasn't intentionally going for a theme, but one emerged anyway...  Some of these people were seriously hard to find photos for, so sorry about the randomness of the picspams ;)

Angela Lansbury is Martha Rodgers





David Suchet is Jim Beckett





Patrick Malahide is Captain Roy Montgomery





Lenora Crichlow is Detective Javier Esposito






Honeysuckle Weeks is Detective Kevin Ryan

Really nice choices for the recasting all around, particularly David Suchet as Jim Beckett and Honeysuckle Weeks as Ryan. (Admittedly, I've never seen the latter in anything other than "Foyle's War".)

As to the secret theme ...
Four from detective shows,
Four from British television
... that's all I got.

Thanks. David Suchet was the first one I thought of. I love him as Poirot and I'd love to see him in more things! I think he'd be a great Jim Beckett.

You've spotted the unintentional themes:
All five are British (I know Angela Lansbury is American now, but she was born in the UK so I've 'borrowed' her!).
All five have played a TV detective/crime-solver (and most have played more than one, but that's probably because so much British TV is detective-based!).
